Description
Tumble Buddies is a client project developed from my existing Pac-Guy prototype after a client discovered the project in my portfolio and commissioned a multiplayer adaptation for a university project. As the solo developer, I adapted and polished the original obstacle-course gameplay into a local two-player experience on a single device. Each player has independent controls, while a shared connection between them limits how far they can separate. The connection changes color based on their distance, requiring both players to coordinate their movement and complete the course together. The project features challenging levels, refined collision handling, optimized gameplay, and an improved UI.

Highlights
Local Multiplayer
Implemented two-player gameplay on a single PC, with Player 1 using WASD and Space and Player 2 using Arrow Keys and Enter.
Distance-Based Connection
Created a shared visible connection between players that changes from green to red as they move farther apart and restricts excessive separation.
Cooperative Obstacle Course
Adapted the original obstacle-course gameplay so both players must successfully reach the finish together to complete a level.
Coordination-Based Gameplay
Designed mechanics that require players to coordinate their movement, timing, and distance rather than simply racing against each other.
Challenging Levels
Created and refined multiple obstacle-course levels with increasingly difficult platforming challenges.
Prototype Enhancement
Reworked the existing Pac-Guy project with improved collision handling, optimization, polish, and UI to meet the client's multiplayer requirements.
