Dodge Box
A self-built 3D game and coding confidence challenge

Description
Dodge Box is a personal Unity practice project I created early in my Unity and C# journey as a deliberate challenge to break away from tutorials and AI-assisted development. At the time, I struggled to write, understand, and test even simple code independently, so I decided to build a complete game without following tutorials or using AI tools. The game features a controllable 3D box that moves left and right while spherical objects fall from above. Players must dodge the falling objects, with their score increasing for each successful dodge. I independently developed the gameplay code, UI, game objects, audio, and implementation through experimentation, testing, and debugging.

Highlights
Built Without Tutorials or AI
Developed the project independently as a deliberate challenge to strengthen programming confidence.
Self-Written Codebase
Wrote the gameplay logic and supporting systems from scratch.
Dodge-Based Gameplay
Implemented left-to-right movement and falling spherical obstacles that the player must avoid.
Score System
Tracks successful dodges and progressively increases the player's score.
Independent Problem Solving
Used experimentation, testing, debugging, and iteration to understand and resolve development problems.
Complete Implementation
Independently created the gameplay, UI, game objects, sound effects, and supporting systems.
Personal Milestone
Kept as a portfolio record of the point where I began developing the confidence to build systems independently rather than relying on tutorials.
